Celebrate God's Grace!

Praise Report:
God continues to bless us with many opportunities to put our faith in action and "Be the Church" that is to be God's "called out" people to share His love in tangible ways to our community.

For July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014 our goal at St. Mark was to have 300 of our partners involved in Faith in Action projects to serve our community with the love of Jesus.  I'm happy to report that we are already at 302 volunteers and we still have a couple more projects to go before June 30!  Praise God!

Opportunity to Serve:
One of the projects we have is an opportunity to help the CP Center of Green Bay get ready for their accreditation process.  We will be helping them spread wood chips around their playground, doing paint touch ups to their playground equipment, and helping with general landscaping/grounds upkeep.  They suggested that 15 people would probably be an appropriate number to help out.  They have some landscaping supplies, but it would be helpful for us to bring some extra shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc. if we can.  We do not need to bring any paint supplies or brushes.

If you are interested, please e-mail Pastor Chris at chris.johnson@stmarkpartners.org.  Then meet at the CP Center on Saturday, June 7 around 9am.  If you want more information about what the CP center does click HERE.  Thank you!  May God bless our continued efforts to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community!

Why serve?
Jesus said it perfectly when He told His disciples, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.  Not so with you.  Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:25-28).  The reason why we serve is that we get to be an extension of Jesus to our community.  When we serve we share His love, His humility and His life-saving message.

Jesus wants everyone to know that He loves them and came to save them.  How will they know if we don't engage with our community?  When we serve that gives us an opportunity to speak about Jesus.  Only Jesus saves.  Let's be bold and reach out to our community in tangible ways to share the only message that can change a person's eternal address.  For more ways to do this, click HERE.

If you have been serving in our community, I'd love to hear from you what you've been up to.  Please share with me at chris.johnson@stmarkpartners.org.  God bless your efforts!
